Chef Wesley’s Cookies: Head Pastry Chef Improves Upon Culinary Classics

Is there a better desert? Simple. Delicious. And you can never have just one. We’re talking cookies… Chef Wesley’s Cookies to be exact!

Chef Wesley Mayton started his culinary career at age eighteen. He attended the School of the Culinary Arts and his mother serves as inspiration for his love of baking and cooking. He was trained under two time world pastry chef, Laurent Branlard, and has over twenty five years of experience. Ultimately, his career landed him in Augusta, GA, where he worked as the head pastry chef at the Augusta National for the past ten years until deciding to start his own business venture, Chef Wesley’s Cookies

He currently offers five different flavors of cookies which are listed below:

Snickerdoodle 

The snickerdoodle cookie is topped with cinnamon sugar and has heavier notes of vanilla bourbon. This cookie is gooey on the inside but firm (where you don’t have to worry about it crumbling) on the outside. 

Oatmeal raisin

The oatmeal raisin cookie has a hint of cinnamon and is soft and chewy. This cookie is filled with golden raisins to add a burst of flavor while breaking up the texture of the oats. We typically wouldn’t choose oatmeal raisin, but after tasting this flavor it left us wanting more! 

Sugar

The sugar cookie is pillowy soft and is topped with granulated sugar for a slight crunch. It has a hint of almond flavor that is reminiscent of wedding cake. So good!

Peanut butter 

The peanut butter cookie is not overly sweet and has a strong natural peanut butter flavor. There are crushed peanuts throughout the cookie which add a nice crunch! 

Chocolate chip

The chocolate chip cookie is loaded which pieces of chocolate in every bite. It has a hint of bourbon vanilla, and is not too sweet. The texture is perfect, firm but soft. You can’t go wrong with this one, it’s a classic.

Chef Wesley knocked it out of the park with these! You can taste the quality of the ingredients that go into each cookie, such as the Plugra butter and homemade bourbon vanilla, but more importantly, you can taste the passion for what he does throughout each bite.
