Sheehan’s Irish Pub: Is This One Of Augusta’s Best Restaurants?

Sheehan's Irish Pub

Are you looking for the perfect spot to meet up with friends and family? Look no further! Sheehan’s Irish Pub, located in the Summerville area of Augusta, GA, is quaint, cozy and the staff are very inviting. For a more intimate setting, request the back patio area, as the main bar area can get quite lively as the night goes on.

Smoked Trout Dip at Sheehan's Irish Pub

We made reservations on the OpenTable app and were seated immediately as we entered the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive and made us feel as if we were family. Service was quick and our waitress was amazing! The owner came to check on us towards the end of our meal to ensure that we had a wonderful experience.

Honey Lacquered Duck at Sheehan's Irish Pub

With appetizer options ranging from Scotch eggs to Chile fried shrimp and entrees from fish and chips to filet of beef, the menu is quite diverse! For our appetizers, we ordered the smoked trout dip and the Irish spring rolls (corned beef, cabbage, carrots, Swiss cheese, and onions in a crispy fried spring roll with homemade thousand island dressing.) The Irish spring rolls are so good that we forgot to take a picture before we dug in! For our entrees we ordered the catfish Louisiana and the honey lacquered duck. The catfish Louisiana is my go to dish, it’s blackened and served over creamy Stilton cheese grits and topped with sautéed mushrooms, crawfish and covered with a beurre blanc sauce (basically melted butter seasoned with shallots. What’s not to like?) Taylor also ordered his go to, the honey lacquered duck that is fall off the bone tender, marinated in a ginger soy sauce and flash fried, then topped with an Asian BBQ sauce, served over Stilton cheese grits and a side of deliciously sweet and tangy collards. And who could forget my favorite part of the meal…dessert! We ordered the whiskey cake, an extremely moist yellow pound cake made with whiskey for a little extra “bite” accompanied by fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
