Decor
Pho-ramen’l is one of the newest restaurants that has opened in downtown Augusta, GA, and is owned by the Frog Hollow Group. Upon entering we noticed how moody this restaurant is with black walls and red accents. It’s so trendy! There are signs with neon lights that read “send noods” as well as other plays on words. You can see the hours of thought behind the decor as it is well executed.
Service
All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly. The hostess was able to seat us fairly quickly upon arrival (as they do not accept reservations in advance.) Our waitress was very helpful in suggesting menu items and attentive throughout our entire visit.
Food
For appetizers, we had cauliflower bang bang which is tempura fried and drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce. We also tried the pork belly bao bun which had a hoisin sauce with pickled daikon (radish) and carrots served on a slightly sweet and fluffy bun. We also ordered a peach green tea and passion fruit boba as well as a taro boba. Both were delicious, the taro boba tasted just like a vanilla milkshake! Entrees consisted of the southern chicken ramen that had a southern twist on a traditional Asian dish, and the beef pho. The chicken had a good flavor and most of the beef in the pho was tender, some pieces were overcooked though. Overall, the food was not bad it was just not what we have come to expect from the Frog Hollow Group. We would like to try Pho-ramen’l again in the future and we look forward to more restaurants (Taco Cat is coming soon) from the Frog Hollow Group.
